The Palace - Downtown Dubai

This hotel provides a very relaxing, luxurious and pleasant service throughout your stay / day!! The entrance via taxi or when valeting our vehicle is easy and a wonderful view as you enter the driveway - great service provided by the clerks and assistants. When entering the hotel there is a wonderful aura about the place and it always smells beautiful!

Gym - The male gym is quite small, but provides enough equipment to complete a full body workout and has a good selection of free weights and assisted machines. However, the changing room / shower areas are excellent - you are provided with towels and the rain shower after a work out was perfect. After my work out and whilst changing i was offered a complimentary juice, and felt totally relaxed as i got ready to use the pool for the day. The pool is well sized, and provides nice areas for you to swim and also sit and read a book. The pool area also looks towards the Burj Khalifa and during the day you are able to watch the fountain displays. The sun loungers are very comfortable and soft towels are provided. The service around the pool is excellent, however after visiting recently I was dissapointed to see they have removed the service / call buttons that were previously allocated to each table that I used last summer. These were a real touch of quality and allowed you to relax as you could press the button and wait for service, as opposed to now having to sit up and catch the attention of a waiter. Overall - a beautiful hotel to stay in, or visit for the day and use the facilities. Food is quite expensive for the quantity and quality that is provided (due to its location selling point) but not too bad. I have eaten the chicken shawarma twice - the first time it was very greasy and disspointing, the second much better. I would suggest having the chicken fajita wrap.......that Mrs BTR had and I stole a few bites of.

BTR Expert Tip - Request a room on a higher floor and a sunbed at the far end of the pool - closest to the lake.
