Prime Steakhouse - Bellagio, Las Vegas

Slightly Disappointed....

BTR were lucky enough to stay at the Bellagio for 5 nights during our 3 week trip of the USA, celebrating BTR's joint birthday. I had booked our table at Prime 6 weeks prior, the day that tables became available to book; informing via email of the special occasion and requested if possible to be sat outside with a fountain view or by the windows. We arrived at 9pm, to be informed that the patio was closed for a private event (fair enough) but also that our table was not ready and it should be about a 15-20 minute wait, and that we could have a drink at the bar before dinner.

We did not mind having a drink at the bar, however the staff / front of house did not offer to cover the drink due to running late and 30 minutes later we still had not been seated and therefore had another drink. Firstly it is disappointing that staff did not offer a drink due to the restaurant running late, additionally it was then longer than stated. We have been to many other restaurants where this happened, but normally offered a drink for the inconvenience. 40 minutes later we were informed we could be seated and followed the hostess, however we walked towards the back of the restaurant and away from the windows and fountain view. I informed the hostess that we had requested a fountain view, and additionally then waited 40 minutes so would have hoped that this would then be recognised seeing as we had waited a substantial time already. Luckily 5 minutes later we were provided with a table viewing the fountains, it wasn't at the windows but by now it was almost 10pm and we had been holding out from any snacks in the early evening in the knowledge we were meant to have dinner at 9pm. The waiters that served us were excellent and can not be faulted at all. We did enjoy the view and enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant.

We opted for a Dry Aged Bone Rib Eye steak, Filet, Onion Rings, Creamed Spinach and french fries. All of the food was excellent except for the fries, not the worst thing in the world, but disappointing. I had already had fries another day at Bellagio (pool cafe) which were great, but these were dry, over cooked and hard, it seemed as though they had been sat for a while and re-heated.

Overall - Food was great, service from waiters excellent, but with reference to my review of the Bellagio Hotel felt undervalued as a customer due to the lack of awareness of special occasion (even though I had previously made contact) and to then not be compensated with a drink of some form as we waited 45 minutes for our table.
