Sea Salt Lounge and Grill - Phuket, Thailand

Perfect sunset dinner!

After eating at the markets and street food vendors every day whilst in Phuket we chose to enjoy one "nicer" dinner and was not disappointed. BTR had booked a couple of weeks before going and explained that we were celebrating our anniversary a couple of days before.......which they were very kind to honour by providing us with a table on the front row closest to the beach and water. Service throughout was excellent, and a nice touch was that we were given refreshing cold flannels on arrival - pleasant to use if the temperature is warm in the evening and met by very friendly staff. The price is slightly high, but only in comparison to eating local Thai food etc. We felt the price we paid (approx £120) for our food and drink was excellent and far better value than Dubai or London. For the experience of watching the sunset as you drink and then enjoy dinner the price is excellent.

Sea Salt Lounge and Grill Patong

We enjoyed a couple of cocktails each (it was happy hour half price) a wine, beer, starters, lobster and steak for approx £120 and felt it was excellent value. The calamari that we had to start was excellent, with a very good light batter. Portion size was also good so we were very pleased.

For main course we had rib eye steak which was perfectly cooked, and grilled lobster which my fiance enjoyed also. My only disappointment was the onion rings we ordered alongside our main dishes. The onion rings were unfortunately "shop bought frozen" that could have been from Tesco etc. and although they were a large portion size, I would prefer a smaller portion with better quality. This was a real shame and could / should be easily resolved - as the batter used for the calamari was very good so seems strange not to make fresh onion rings using the same batter? This minor fault did not dampen the experience or evening at Sea Salt but after enjoying the excellent calamari I looked forward to getting onion rings in the fresh, crispy batter.

Overall, we were really pleased with the whole evening, we go there just before 6.30 as sunset was happening (I would recommend arriving between 6-6.15) had a couple of drinks as we watched and then tucked into our food as the waves lapped onto the beach.

If you fancy a more luxurious dinner whilst in the Patong area then I would highly recommend Sea Salt Lounge and Grill. Thank You!
