Viva Las Vegas!
BTR chose to stay at the Bellagio for 5 nights in July as part of BTR's 3 trip of the USA. Overall the experience and staying at Bellagio was great, but as a customer you don't really mean anything to the hotel as it is so big and there are so many guests here. BUT, if you are going to Vegas I would recommend to anyone that this is the place to stay for its iconic status and excellent location.
Arrival - The staff on arrival were friendly and took our bags away so that they could then be taken to our room. The entrance to the hotel is impressive and as you enter met by a beautiful, colourful display hanging from the ceiling. I had previously contacted the concierge / front desk via email to inform them of our birthday celebrations and that if possible it would be appreciated if the fountain view room we had booked could be on a high level. We arrived at approximately 11am after flying from LAX and were originally allocated a room on level 7.....at this point I informed the member of staff of prior emails and communications. We went round in circles for a bit, being offered a room on level 8, coming back the next day etc.......when luckily she spoke to a manager and we were were allocated a room on level 24! Great news....but I did wonder why this could not have happened in the first place?
Room - The room is beautiful and overlooked the fountains, as booked. For the negativity I have towards Bellagio for not feeling special or valued, the room was excellent, well sized, great shower and bath and the amenities were good. The room staff cleaned the room perfectly and even checked in the evening sometimes when we were there if anything else was needed. The view of the fountains is worth paying the extra money for, every night I sat and watched during sunset or when the bright lights of LV were lit - its beautiful to watch from the comfort of your room and watch LV passing by.
Pool - The multiple swimming pools are lovely, the service the waitresses provide is excellent and will continually ask if your require anything further. Coming from Dubai we are used to receiving complimentary water during hotel staycations, so I understand its just a different culture in LV as we had to pay for water by the pool. The food at the Pool Cafe was really good, and we ate here twice including the squid, burger and club sandwich!
Restaurants - As mentioned we had food at the pool cafe twice, which was excellent and once again the staff should be credited with how friendly and great they were. We also had dinner at Prime Steakhouse (see separate review) but again fell victim to this hotels magnitude; having to wait 45 minutes for a table we had booked 6 weeks prior when they became available; informing them of the special occasion and not getting a window seat initially. "Just a number" - I have mentioned the lack of awareness from Prime Steakhouse (table late and originally not near window, no dessert or drink offered whilst waiting) and in addition to this at no point during our stay did the hotel provide some bubbly, sparkling wine....or even some chocolates to our room for the special occasion which I find really disappointing. As a customer you have paid a lot of money to enjoy the special occasion in their hotel and at no point was this recognised, yet whilst in NYC a few days later it was by a small independent hotel (that was no where near as glamorous as the Bellagio) .....so as I said, that part is disappointing.
If its your first time in Las Vegas BTR would highly recommend The Bellagio as your hotel, its iconic, has a great location in the middle of the strip, plenty of pool space and the fountains are beautiful to watch any time of the day. However, if we go back to Las Vegas again we will be staying somewhere else as it did not do enough to twist my arm emotionally not to try somewhere else.
