I reserved a table via telephone to celebrate the cheeky 5 year anniversary with Mrs BTR, and our pre-dinner drinks were the perfect start to an evening at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The bar is on the 24th floor (or 23rd) of the JBH and provides an excellent view when drinking outside towards Kite Beach and north of Dubai city.
We were guided to our reserved table which was undoubtedly the best table on the outside balcony as it had the best view of the Burj Al Arab and provided a romantic and quiet area for Mrs BTR to enjoy her wine as I sipped a Peroni......seeing as it was the weekend and all.
Drinks were reasonably priced (for Dubai) and there is also a Moet champagne promotion on a Thursday evening that is definitely worth investing in should you choose to.
What made the experience at Uptown Bar so excellent was the service that the staff provided overall - the excellent table with view, good communication from our waiter (who was aware of the special occasion) and the complimentary fruity alcoholic shot that was provided by the bar to celebrate our anniversary.
The atmosphere of the bar was also excellent - we sat outside, which was not overly crowded and the music was relaxed and not too loud as per some bars which meant we were able to talk and enjoy the bright Dubai skyline and nicely lit Burj Al Arab.
I would strongly suggest to any residents of Dubai and travellers that they should visit Uptown Bar for a drink. Smart dress code applies, making the visit better as there was no one straight off the beach in their flip flops.
BTR Expert Tip - Visit and sit outside during the Winter and Spring before it gets too hot from April onwards.
