Myself and Mrs BTR popped along to Tashas (near Box Park along Al Wasl Road) a couple of weekends ago after trying to visit Cocoa Rooms (which was closed) and was pleasantly surprised by the service, quality of the food, healthy options they offer and overall experience that Tashas provides for brunch, lunch and dinner.....or even just for some cake and dessert.
The outdoor seating is nice, relaxed and provides a lovely aura to enjoy good food outside during the Dubai spring - before the heat of summer. The staff were very helpful in suggesting items to have from the menu - which has a very wide selection and makes you want to order every item on the menu as you see peoples food arrive to their tables #foodenvy
Being a lover and connoisseur of burgers, and often choosing these from the menus of restaursants I visit, I was pleased with the quality of burger that Tasha's provided me, altough an increase in size would improve this dish I feel.
THE DESSERTS!!!! Now this is where this restauraunt excels and continues to provide a great selection and quality....walk inside and the glass cabinets reveal a wonderful range of fresh cakes and desserts, from which the 2 I have eaten were AMAZING!!! During my first visit I tried the very Chocolatey dessert (can not remember the name, apologies) that was moist, and perfectly complimented with chocolate sauce and scoop of ice cream- see picture below.
During my second visit I braved away from my love of choclate and treated myself to the freshly baked Hazelnut Cheesecake......and once again Tasha's dessert creators did not dissapoint. The cheescake was full of flavour, and had a very nice biscuit base.
To top it all off........their MILKSHAKES are also EXCELLENT!! And, as a lover of milkshakes, and someone who gets frustrated by establishments over-charging for thin, non ice-cream based milkshakes Tasha's provided me with one of the best chocolate milkshakes I have ever had, not just within Dubai. The milkshake had good size, was thick and very chocolatey - NO COMPLAINTS, pretty much perfect!! Overall Tasha's is a great place for a freshly made food, provides healthy options should you seek and is also worth visiting if your just looking for some tea and cake with friends or family. Prices are not cheap by an means, but you do see what your extra few dirham have gone towards as you view the busy kitchen staff prepare food, other guests food arrive and enjoy your own.
Mrs BTR keeps nagging me to take her back to Tashas, but that dreaded "Dubai Stone" will soon loom on both of us if she had her way......so I look forward to the next time we treat ourselves to some grub at Tasha's.
BTR Expert Tip - Order a milkshake and drink it quickly before it melts.....but not so quick you dont enjoy it.
