So, its been a long time since BTR provided some reviews of food, and this is due to a nice long summer vacation.......
But here is one of a few foodie reviews coming up...even though this one is based on the Spanish South Coast.
Myself and Mrs BTR visited after walking down from the market at Centro Plaza near the Port and I was actually very disappointed with the overall experience I had at La Sala one Saturday afternoon in mid August. I have visited "La Sala on The Sea" and La Sala @ San Pedro before it closed and this was the worst experience I have had. Firstly we stood at the entrance for approximately 2 minutes waiting to be greeted, during which time a couple of waiters / waitresses walked past with no recognition or communication - shocked! We then were offered a table, after I made eye contact with a waiter and sat down......without being given menus. So we waited.....and waited further until I got fed up and walked to the entrance and collected a menu from the welcome board. Maybe I have become too accustomed to the excellent service regularly found within Dubai?...... The experience did not get any better unfortunately......I had to ask a waitress if we could order drinks, and then also to order some food. When I ordered food the waitress then assumed that I wanted the Calamari starter dish with our mains - without actually asking. This lead to us waiting ages for food, then getting and eating our calamari before quickly receiving our mains. The only positive from our experience was the food to be honest, which was GOOD - Calamari, Steak and burger was lovely......although a shame the burger arrived with a load of grease on the plate (should have been wiped before hand).

To top off the poor experience a piece of part eaten pineapple stayed on our table from the previous customers for the duration of our lunch - really shocking to be honest. (See picture)

Overall, a very disappointing experience at an establishment that isn't cheap, and would claim to be of a finer class. I have been to La Sala at the Sea which has always been good with excellent food and service to match, but this La Sala (Banus) has a lot of catching up to do and improving of its service to provide why it suggests it does. Will be back in Marbella on at least 2 occasions next year but not sure I will be returning to La Sala - shame!
