Myself and Mrs BTR were lucky enough to indulge in a Business Class flight from Dubai to London Heathrow (LHR) .......and then onto New York over Christmas!
Lounge - The BA Lounge in Terminal 1 at DXB is not that big, but pleasant enough to relax whilst enjoying some food.......and a few pre-flights night caps! The seats are comfy and help yourself drinks is always helpful.
Flight - Now, I am not a massive fan of the BA layout for business class compared to its competitors like Virgin and Qatar who opt for reverse herringbone layouts - meaning everyone has direct isle access and feels just that bit more private! However, the whole experience of BA Club World was fantastic. The lounge at DXB as stated is a nice start........
On entry to the plane we were greeted with champagne and asked what our breakfast order was for the morning - just before landing. The seat was very comfortable, and provided a perfect opportunity to sleep as we started our long journey to New York. I am 5 ft 11 and when laid down flat there is plenty of room to get comfy and a good nights sleep - which we both did for most of the flight.
After sleeping most of the flight we woke up naturally to then find breakfast being served not long after - from what I remember, it was pretty good, but forgive me for lacking details!
So overall the flight was good, seat was comfy, BA service excellent.......the only minor negatives of Club World seats is the layout, and that it all feels a bit dated now and plastic!
LHR Arrival - When we landed in London (LHR) we had a couple of hours to spare so were able to enjoy the South Galleries Lounge in T5, which was very pleasant and enjoyable after flying 7 hours from DXB. It was morning so plenty on offer for breakfast including freshly baked croissants.........which always puts a smile on my face!
The Galleries lounge in LHR is huge, with lots of space to eat and relax before jumping or your first or connecting flight. Comfy seating throughout the lounge and the usual perks like papers to read and unlimited drinks.
I wish I had taken more pictures of the Club World cabin and did'nt get any of the breakfast when it came round, so when we travel to San Fransisco in summer 2018 with BA I will make sure I get more pics and start adding videos too.
